Recall Guidelines

Recall is the power of the voters to remove elected officials before their term is up. The Washington State laws that pertain to recalls are found in RCW 29A.56, in this RCW you can find the steps that must be followed to start a recall.

Recalls can only be called for if an election official “has committed an act or acts of malfeasance, or an act or acts of misfeasance while in office, or has violated the oath of office, or has been guilty of any two or more of the acts specified in the Constitution as grounds for recall.
